Rizwan Siddiqui, an introverted history teacher lives with his pregnant wife, Sarah, who confesses one day, that the child in her womb is not his, but from an affair she has had.
Rizwan forces her to abort the baby. Sarah agrees, but soon after, demands that he leave her alone. This compels Rizwan to shift to a new address, where he meets Shilpa, a Hijra.
For a time, her influence and friendship promises to harmonise his discordant life. But when she disappears, her search leads him into a wild vortex, where his life begins to steadily descend and he is deemed an anti-national.
