R. Raj Rao is a well-established name when one talks about Queer Literature in India. He has recently begun writing fiction under the new pen-name of Raja Rao Jr. Rao is violently opposed to censorship and self-censorship; the stories in this volume reveal his conviction. These stories are at once political and artistic. R. Raj Rao is the author of over a dozen books of fiction, poetry, plays, nonfiction and translation, all published by India’s top publishers. However, he says that his USP is that he has never won, and never will win a literary prize because of his radical aesthetics. He is an Emeritus professor today and has been a visiting writer and professor in the U.S.A., U.K., Canada and Germany.
